The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in JavaScript Framework development, coupled with DevOps and Platform engineering expertise. This role is crucial for crafting exceptional software solutions that contribute to the overall success of the organization. You will be responsible for constructing various components of the company's infrastructure to facilitate extensive interactions at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the uptime, performance, stability, and scalability of the company platform.
  • Design, mentor, and collaborate on system architecture and design with peers.
  • Develop and maintain a public API.
  • Create robust and extensible solutions based on feature requests.
  • Engage with big data technologies such as Kafka, Hadoop, and Spark.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists to implement value-added features.
  • Work alongside Database Administrators to establish ETL and Data Warehouse systems.
  • Partner with Operations to automate solutions and enhance service reliability.
  • Monitor all production systems related to the platform closely.
  • Build tools and processes to support analytics, monitoring, machine learning, and data warehousing platforms.
  • Define and implement strategies covering various aspects, from subnets to backups and fog networking/computing configurations.
  • Provision, configure, maintain, back up, and monitor both onsite and cloud-based server resources.
  • Establish deployment strategies for both client-facing and internal tool systems.
  • Continuously improve and refine alerting and monitoring systems.

Qualifications:

  • Professional experience supporting enterprise applications in the Cloud, Web Application Servers, or on third-party hosted sites, showcasing scripting expertise for automation, analytics, monitoring, or health checks.
  • Strong software development background with experience in building software systems.
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: PHP, Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Elixir, Go, or similar.
  • Solid foundation in Linux administration.
  • Extensive experience with cloud service providers such as AWS, Digital Ocean, Google Cloud, etc.
  • Thorough understanding of IT security best practices.
  • Experience with automation/configuration tools (e.g., Puppet, Ansible) and/or orchestration software (e.g., Docker Swarm, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of computer networking principles.
  • Experience with administration at a production scale.
