Medical Laboratory Technician

Key Responsibilities- Prepare patient rooms for blood draws and lab procedures, gathering necessary materials.
- Assist with minor lab tests, including pregnancy and rapid testing, as needed.
- Verify patient information before labeling samples using standard protocols.
- Update patient information in our database and address STAT and timed laboratory requests in a timely and courteous manner.
- Participate in training new phlebotomists and perform other assigned duties related to the medical lab.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a phlebotomy or medical assisting program.
- Demonstrated commitment to UMC Core Values.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including inpatient and outpatient shifts.
This role requires standing for long periods, frequent walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Near visual acuity is necessary.
Environmental/Working ConditionsThis position is subject to indoor environmental changes, including temperature fluctuations and minimal exposure to chemicals.
