Site Manager for Before School Activities

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the guidance of the Youth Director, the Site Coordinator plays a pivotal role in organizing, planning, and leading before school programs while overseeing the program staff.
This position is accountable for managing the operations of the program in alignment with the mission, objectives, and policies set forth by the administrative team, governing bodies, and Board of Directors of the YMCA.
PROGRAM HOURS:
Monday-Friday from 6:45-9:00 a.m.
The base hourly wage is $15.00/hr., with an additional incentive of $2.00/hr for participation in the Before School programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establishes and maintains effective communication with the program director, staff, participants, and their families to foster strong, positive relationships.
- Provides daily leadership and support to all staff members. Aids in the onboarding, training, and evaluation of program personnel.
- Responsible for parent and caregiver communication, including monthly newsletters and weekly updates.
- Develops and nurtures collaborative partnerships with community organizations.
- Ensures consistent, clear, and effective communication within the scope of responsibility.
- Creates daily schedules and assigns staff to activities and huddles to promote growth and success.
- Assists the Youth Director in preparing for staff meetings and training sessions.
- Collaborates with the Youth Director in planning, coaching, facilitating activities, and communicating with staff in the designated program area.
- Supports the Youth Director in crafting and distributing daily, weekly, and monthly communications to parents.
- Responsible for opening and closing the program each day.
- Participates in weekly and monthly meetings with the Youth Director to identify opportunities for improvement in the assigned program.
- Ensures the cleanliness and organization of the facility and equipment.
- Maintains a safe program environment, adhering to all safety protocols and standards.
- Assists counselors with significant participant discipline matters.
- Exemplifies relationship-building skills in all interactions. Cultivates and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- A high school diploma or GED is required, with two years of experience working with youth preferred.
- Prior experience in program development, personal development, and staff supervision is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Ability to effectively engage with diverse groups from various social and economic backgrounds.
- Demonstrated skills in programming, communication, public speaking, and problem-solving.
- Ability to assist in managing the facility, equipment, and personnel.
- Must obtain certifications in Basic Life Support/First Aid and Emergency Oxygen through the YMCA upon hire.
- Multi-lingual abilities are a plus but not mandatory.
