Job Summary

The Operating Room Circulator RN is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in Surgical Services Ambulatory area for all patient populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Rotating through all specialties of Surgical Services (Ambulatory Surgery, Operating Room, Recovery Room)
  • Preparing patients for surgery
  • Collaboration and caring for the patient during their Operative episode
  • Verification of Universal Protocol
  • Giving SBARQ report
  • Ensuring all specimens are handled correctly
  • Documentation on electronic record
  • Restocking of supplies and care of equipment
  • Functioning as a team player
  • Recovering patients from surgery
  • Discharging patients from Ambulatory Surgery
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • Possess a current RN license from the Michigan State board of Nursing
  • Two years of perioperative nurse experience
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications must be obtained within one year of hire date if not already achieved
