Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician II to join our team at Trinity Health. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for performing advanced-level technical functions, including leading a team of technicians and ensuring the accuracy and quality of pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced-level technical functions, including leading a team of technicians and ensuring the accuracy and quality of pharmacy operations.
  • Compile patient information, process prescriptions, and generate medication labels and documents.
  • Operate and maintain pharmacy computer systems, cash registers, and office equipment.
  • Review and process computer data to determine and complete billing procedures.
  • Assume responsibility for the maintenance of accounts, records, and documents as required by state and regulatory agencies.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, physicians, and other Health System personnel.
  • Resolve problems with orders still in process and refer drug information requests or special situational problems to a pharmacist.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years' experience as a retail pharmacy technician.
  • Licensure in the State of Michigan is required.
  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred.
Competencies
  • Ability to accurately and quickly perform mathematical calculations commonly used in retail pharmacy.
  • Basic typing and computer skills to do order entry, generate reports, retrieve data, and diagnose minor printer problems.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment when prioritizing work responsibilities.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary for effective communication with patients, physicians, nurses, and other Health System personnel.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position working day shifts. The successful candidate will be required to stand for long periods of time and walk long distances without difficulty.
