Key Responsibilities:
- Implement care plans, including administering medications, collecting specimens, and providing clinical treatments.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities.
- Monitor and communicate patient conditions effectively with the care team, physicians, patients, and their families.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, ensuring their personal hygiene, nutrition, and mobility needs are met.
- Coordinate patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and addressing spiritual or psychosocial support needs.
- Assess the educational needs of patients and families, delivering tailored education based on age, culture, and specific circumstances.
- Advocate for the physical and emotional health of patients.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
Skills: Strong critical thinking abilities, sound judgment, and capacity to work independently in high-pressure situations.
Certifications: New hires must possess current BLS certification upon hiring and are expected to obtain NRP and ACLS certifications within six months. Additional certifications such as AWHONN/Intermediate Fetal Monitoring/Advanced Fetal Monitoring and STABLE are required within one year of hire or transfer.
New employees have a grace period of ninety (90) days to secure American Heart Association certifications, while remaining current in all other required certifications as specified in the job description.
Licenses: A valid NM RN license or appropriate compact licensure is mandatory.
