Job Summary:

The Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for supervising and performing maintenance and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles and associated items. This includes heavy-wheeled vehicles and select armored vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain wheeled vehicles, their associated trailers, and material handling equipment systems.
  • Inspect and service automotive electrical systems, including wiring harnesses and starting and charging systems.
  • Perform wheeled vehicle recovery operations.
Requirements:
  • Must be between the ages of 17-34.
  • Must have a GED or High School Diploma.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Cardholder.
  • Must meet Army Height and weight standards.
Training:

Job training for a wheeled vehicle mechanic requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instructions.

This is a critical role in the U.S. Army, requiring a strong understanding of automotive mechanics and the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems.
