Role Responsibilities
The primary function of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Technologist is to support patient care within the cardiac catheterization environment by providing essential technical assistance to the cardiac team.
- Deliver direct, safe, and proficient patient care in the Interventional Cardiology department.
- Assist in executing various invasive cardiac or peripheral vascular diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Maintain a high standard of patient care through effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to address their physical and emotional needs.
- Operate under the guidance and immediate supervision of the cardiologist or radiologist during procedures.
- Support the cardiologist by managing ancillary equipment and preparing necessary supplies and medications as directed.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations and accepted professional guidelines.
- Provide quality, cost-effective patient care in a professional manner.
- Contribute to a patient-centered environment, ensuring timely and compassionate care.
- Promote and uphold a safe workplace for both staff and patients, incorporating national safety initiatives.
- Accurately prepare and update patient records.
- Current professional license in good standing.
- Relevant specialty certifications and credentials.
- Preferred: Minimum of two years of experience in a cardiac catheterization setting, ideally in critical care.
