Key Responsibilities- Medication Review and Interpretation: Review and interpret physicians' orders to ensure that medications are appropriate for patients' age, weight, and comorbidities. Identify and address potential drug incompatibilities and allergies.
- Medication Preparation and Delivery: Oversee the preparation and delivery of medications to care areas in a timely and secure manner.
- Collaborative Care: Work with healthcare team members to provide pharmacotherapy recommendations and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Supervise and mentor technicians, interns, and students to maintain the accuracy and quality of pharmaceutical services.
- Quality and Safety: Maintain quality and safety in the department through quality control checks, error reporting, and process improvements.
- Customer Service: Provide accurate and timely responses to healthcare professionals and patients regarding drug information and medication use policies.
- Training and Education: Participate in the orientation, instruction, and training of pharmacy students, interns, and other healthcare professionals.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to State and Federal laws, regulations, pharmacy policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical practice guidelines and medication use policies.
