The Opportunity:

As a Senior Lab Services Specialist at one of our Renton, WA offices focused on serving our senior health population (ages 65+), you'll be responsible for providing an exceptional experience for patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the lab process. Working closely with our diverse team of providers and administrative assistants, you'll be an integral part of the patient's primary care team, utilizing your expertise to perform specimen collections, processing, and other clinical support services with the highest quality standards.

You will utilize our advanced technology suite, including Slack, G-suite, Zoom, and our Electronic Medical Record System 1Life, to stay connected with the team and complete daily tasks efficiently. Your ability to adapt to changing workflows, think creatively, and provide top-notch customer service will make you an invaluable asset to our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide best-in-class venipuncture services for patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics
  • Perform extended scope duties such as non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs
  • Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling, and processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization
  • Support patient care beyond the lab room by answering messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting providers with clerical tasks

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • An active phlebotomy certification to practice in WA and at least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in computer technology, including typing, navigating the internet, and using multiple software systems simultaneously
  • Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams (additional experience with remote teams a plus)
  • A proven ability to display confidence and instill trust during the collection process while delivering individualized, human-centered, customer-focused care

About the Role:

This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) with an 8-hour shift generally taking place between 8am-5pm.
