Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough manual and automated security assessments on iOS and Android applications, ensuring compliance with security standards.
  • Perform penetration testing and security evaluations, including binary analysis and source code reviews.
  • Analyze application sandbox environments to identify privilege escalation issues on both iOS and Android platforms.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate security requirements into the mobile application lifecycle.
  • Detect and mitigate vulnerabilities such as hardcoded secrets, insecure data storage, and improper permissions.
  • Evaluate third-party libraries for weak algorithms and deprecated components.
  • Generate detailed reports with remediation recommendations to enhance the security posture of mobile applications.
  • Utilize the Mobile Security Testing Guide to effectively test and secure mobile applications.
  • Engage in security projects, technical design reviews, and code assessments.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in conducting security assessments for mobile applications.
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks applicable to mobile platforms (e.g., OWASP, SANS).
  • Proficiency in secure coding practices across various programming languages including C/C++, Java, Objective C, Swift, Kotlin, and Python.
  • Understanding of Inter Process Communication (IPC) on mobile devices.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
  • Familiarity with APIs and authentication protocols like OAuth and SAML.
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and cloud security practices.
  • Hands-on experience with security testing tools, including Burp Suite and static/dynamic analysis tools.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with mobile application CI/CD processes.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong foundation in security engineering and mobile OS security.
  • Hands-on experience with security testing methodologies and best practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of certificate management processes, including SSL/TLS.
