The Response to Intervention (RtI) Teacher is tasked with delivering targeted instructional support in reading and/or mathematics. This role involves collaboration with classroom educators, school leadership, and network personnel to create and execute intervention strategies tailored to the diverse needs of students in a K-8 educational setting.
Key Duties:Assessment and Identification:- Conduct screening assessments to identify students requiring additional academic assistance.
- Analyze assessment data and classroom performance to pinpoint specific student needs.
- Monitor student progress through regular formative assessments and modify interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with the academic team to design and implement individualized intervention strategies based on student needs.
- Provide direct instruction to small groups or individual students in core subjects such as reading and mathematics.
- Employ evidence-based instructional techniques and interventions.
- Work with classroom teachers to integrate interventions into the standard classroom environment when feasible.
- Engage closely with classroom educators, network staff, and school leadership to enhance student learning.
- Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and ways to support learning at home.
- Keep precise and comprehensive records of student progress, intervention plans, and assessment outcomes.
- Stay informed about best practices and research in the field of RtI and instructional support.
- Participate in and lead professional development sessions focused on RtI and differentiated instruction for educators.
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is required.
- Master's degree in Education, Special Education, Reading, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of classroom teaching experience is required.
- Experience with RtI processes and implementing academic interventions is preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of educators and support staff.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in utilizing technology and educational software for assessment and instruction.
This position involves working in a school setting with students, educators, and other staff members. The RtI Teacher may engage with students in various environments, including classrooms and intervention spaces.
