Job Description

At Soliant, we are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team in a school setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in speech therapy and experience working with students with speech, language, and communication disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Diagnosis:
    • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' speech and language skills using standardized tests, observations, and parent/teacher input.
    • Diagnose speech and language disorders and determine the need for therapeutic interventions.
  • Treatment Planning and Implementation:
    • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and educational goals based on assessment results.
    • Provide direct therapy services to students to address issues such as articulation, fluency, voice disorders, and language delays.
    • Adapt therapy techniques and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • IEP Development and Management:
    • Collaborate with educational teams to develop and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs.
    • Monitor and document student progress towards IEP goals, adjusting therapy plans as necessary.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom environment.
    • Provide guidance and support to teachers and parents on strategies to enhance students' communication skills.
    • Attend and participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and other relevant school activities.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student evaluations, therapy sessions, progress reports, and other relevant documentation.
    • Prepare and submit reports for IEP meetings, parent communication, and school evaluations as required.
  • Professional Development:
    • Stay current with the latest research, techniques, and best practices in speech-language pathology.
    • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure and Certification:
    • Valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
    • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred, or eligibility to obtain.
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience working as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.
    • Experience with IEP development and implementation is advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Strong diagnostic and therapeutic skills with the ability to develop and implement effective intervention strategies.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff.
  • Personal Qualities:
    • Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in helping students achieve their communication and academic goals.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth.
