Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Westinghouse Electric Company. As a key member of our manufacturing operations team, you will be responsible for providing technical engineering support and leadership for manufacturing and chemical operations and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct technical engineering support and leadership for manufacturing and chemical operations and maintenance.
  • Assume lead technical responsibility for development and administration of one or more major manufacturing programs, systems or activities.
  • Monitor system performance, specify new processes and designs, and develop, install, and qualify new products, processes, and/or equipment.
  • Ensure compliance to safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Apply engineering analytical skills to identify causes of failures in systems and recommend resolutions.
  • Analyze and recommend utilization of technological innovations in material, machinery, manufacturing, and chemical processing techniques to solve complex manufacturing problems.
  • Perform engineering calculations to support equipment and process designs, including Finite Element Analyses using ANSYS or other similar software tools.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to improve yield, FTT, process safety, and productivity.
  • Address customer and regulatory requirements and concerns.
  • Prepare technical papers and make formal presentations to customers and regulators.
  • Analyze and make proposals for new business opportunities and implement strategic plans.
Requirements
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or Metallurgy.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing or chemical plant.
  • Working knowledge of ASME and industry codes.
  • Strong teamwork skills, including leadership and participation.
  • Oral and written communication skills must be clear, concise, and convincing.
  • Presentation skills critical to influence desired outcome.
  • Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically to drive improvements in the business and/or resolve customer or product issues and concerns.
