Position Overview:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist for ECMO Services plays a pivotal role in the management and coordination of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) services within the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the planning and execution of ECMO services, ensuring high-quality patient care.
2. Provide direct patient care and facilitate patient and family education regarding ECMO and mechanical support systems.
3. Act as the program coordinator for mechanical support devices, including Impella.
4. Uphold professional nursing practices across diverse settings to meet the holistic needs of patients and their families.
5. Engage in the Mayo Nursing Care Model, taking responsibility for all phases of nursing care for assigned patients.

Professional Standards:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist adheres to the ANA Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, demonstrating leadership through mentorship, quality improvement initiatives, and effective communication. The role requires the ability to delegate patient care based on skill level, experience, and patient needs.

Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate nursing program.
- Preferred: One year of RN experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficient in computer skills, with prior experience in electronic medical record systems preferred.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and critical thinking skills.
- Current RN license as per state regulations.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited provider.

Compensation and Benefits:

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with varying shifts, including days and weekends.
