Highway Inspector

Davis & Floyd, a reputable engineering services firm, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Highway Inspector to join our team in Greenville or Greenwood, SC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of our construction projects.

• Conduct thorough inspections of earthwork, asphalt, erosion, and other construction-related items to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Stay up-to-date with and execute SCDOT policies and procedures related to construction.
• Effectively communicate and interact with colleagues and client representatives to ensure seamless project execution.
• Verify that all new construction meets the required standards and specifications.
• Prepare daily inspection and contractor performance reports to track project progress.
• Ensure that design and construction align with client concerns and permit requirements.
• Compile closing packages and record as-built revisions for review with contractors.
• Coordinate individual inspections with contractors across multiple contracts.

• 2-5 years of experience in highway inspection or a related field.
• SCDOT project experience is mandatory.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Certifications:
  • SCDOT Asphalt Roadway Technician (ART)
  • SCDOT Earthwork, Drainage & Base Inspector
• Certifications preferred:
  • SCDHEC Certified Erosion Prevention & Sediment Control Inspector
  • ACI Concrete Field Technician Level 1
  • SCDOT Portland Cement Certification
