As a Critical Facilities Manager at Peterson Companies, you will oversee the operations and maintenance of our large government campus in Chantilly, VA. This includes managing electrical and mechanical systems, as well as technical projects such as system enhancements and infrastructure upgrades.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing operations and maintenance contracts, including engineering services, UPS systems, switchgear, emergency generators, fire alarm systems, building management systems, power management systems, chiller plants, and elevators.
  • Managing assigned projects from inception to completion, including scope development, procurement and oversight of design and construction services, permitting, coordination with vendors and tenants, and project closeout.
  • Implementing an effective QA/QC program to ensure that all work is performed in a safe, professional manner, in accordance with contract requirements and best practices for mission critical facilities.
  • Working closely with property managers, building engineers, and government representatives on long-range planning and coordination for major maintenance activities.
  • Managing and reviewing Local Operating Procedures (LOPs) and Method of Procedures (MOPs) for various operating scenarios, planned maintenance, system testing, and special projects.
  • Working closely with the O&M engineering contractor to ensure a robust on-going training program is in place for engineering personnel.
  • Assisting property managers with technical issues, projects, and budgets.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience managing electrical/mechanical operations and maintenance and/or managing technical projects, ideally in a mission critical environment.
  • Proficient in reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and One-Line drawings.
  • Experienced in developing scopes of work, cost estimating, and analyzing proposals.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A U.S. citizen and willing to seek and obtain a Top-Secret security clearance.
