The Senior PNA plays a vital role in preparing both the patient and the surgical environment prior to procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

PEOPLE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Cultivates a supportive work atmosphere that enhances collaboration among the interprofessional care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Takes initiative in resolving issues within the unit and promotes teamwork by proactively offering assistance and checking in with colleagues. Engages with all members of the healthcare team by sharing relevant patient care information comprehensively. Encourages critical thinking among peers by articulating the rationale behind decisions and ensuring consistent follow-up. Facilitates the orientation and training of new PNAs as needed. Assumes the responsibilities of a preceptor, serving as a clinical resource within the department, and provides constructive feedback. Contributes to improving departmental metrics related to employee retention and engagement. SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Independently delivers assistant-level care to patients in Surgical Services, ensuring the preparation of the surgical environment adheres to established sterile protocols. Organizes workflow, addresses complex issues, and manages multiple priorities effectively. Assists in the transportation of patients and ensures their proper positioning prior to surgical interventions. Monitors and maintains adequate supplies, including surgical gowns and cleaning materials. Exemplifies accountability in enhancing patient satisfaction scores through peer engagement. QUALITY/SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Reports patient observations and conditions to licensed personnel to facilitate desired outcomes while ensuring patient privacy and safety. Actively participates in identifying improvement opportunities that impact quality and safety within the unit. FINANCE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Utilizes resources efficiently and manages time effectively to minimize waste and incidental overtime. GROWTH/INNOVATION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Aids in the development of team members' skills and fosters a constructive patient care environment through learning opportunities. Engages in performance improvement initiatives and maintains an updated individual development plan.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION
High School diploma or equivalent. WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum of two years in a Perioperative Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Assistant role, or a Graduate Nurse awaiting RN licensure. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS - REQUIRED
BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA).
