Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Cashier to join our team at Esbenshades. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, operating a cash register, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to customers, employees, and management
  • Ensure good communication with customers, employees, and management
  • Be tolerant, tactful, cheerful, sincere, polite, honest, encouraging, and accommodating
  • Perform mathematical calculations and take responsibility for cash shortages or overages
  • Closing out cash drawers at the end of shift
  • Keep register area clean, neat, and attractive
  • Be adaptable to changing priorities and varied responsibilities
  • Knowledge of weekly sales items and posting on public boards and cashier books
  • Knowledge of our Customer Loyalty Card Program
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Commitment to attend employee meetings
  • Willingsness to do duties assigned by your supervisor or management personnel
  • Obey safety rules and exercise caution in all activities

Requirements:

  • Basic plant knowledge is helpful but not required
  • Previous computer experience or willingness to learn
  • Register knowledge a plus
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25 lbs)
  • Ability to stand for long periods (8 to 10 hours)
  • Ability to work in various environments (dust, heat, coolness, and high humidity)
