Job Description

MSS is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our team at our Skilled Nursing Facility in West Point, MS. As a faith-based, non-profit organization, we prioritize patient-centered care for our elderly residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients in accordance with physician orders, utilizing therapeutic procedures to address physical function deficits and improve independence, safety, and quality of life.
  • Ensure quality and efficient physical therapy delivery by managing care throughout treatment and delegating tasks to Physical Therapist Assistants under supervision.
  • Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team, providing support and information within the physical therapy domain.
Requirements
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Minimum one year experience in geriatric rehabilitation.
    • Supervision, training, or experience in a setting serving the same age/type as our facility.
    • Membership in the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Master or Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, or Occupational Therapy.
    • Current license/certification in the state of Mississippi.
    • Demonstrated competency in identified areas of specialization.
    • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Adequate computer skills for required job duties and documentation.
    Physical Requirements
    • Ability to walk, bend, drive, stand, sit, and reach constantly during an eight-hour day/shift.
    • Ability to speak and hear to understand and give directions.
    • Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to assess and monitor patient/resident needs, maintain accurate records, understand directions, and recognize people.
    • Fine and gross motor skills.
    • Ability to push wheeled equipment throughout the facility and in the community.
    • Work endurance to perform eight-hour days/shifts.
    • Ability to participate in sustained activity for up to three and one-half hours at a time.
    • Reading and comprehension skills for analyzing reports, charts, and correspondence.
