Position Overview
The Manager of Information Security Risk and Compliance plays a crucial role in enhancing the security framework of our organization. This position is pivotal in guiding the company's security strategy and ensuring robust information security practices are in place. The individual will serve as the key expert, overseeing security assurance processes and controls while adopting a risk-based methodology. Collaboration with various internal teams and IT departments is essential to this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and implementation of information security assurance processes to meet organizational objectives.
- Provide regular updates on project progress and create documentation for monitoring and reporting, including risk assessments.
- Identify and escalate areas needing governance direction.
- Design and implement controls to address risks in alignment with company policies and standards.
- Lead the process for managing security risk exceptions, collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.
- Effectively communicate security risks and gaps to business units.
- Conduct assigned security risk assessments to evaluate compliance and effectiveness.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field; military experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Risk and Compliance or Enterprise Security roles.
- At least 2 years of practical experience in cybersecurity, with familiarity in various security frameworks such as NIST, ISO, and COBIT.
- Experience in enforcing Information Security requirements within enterprise IT environments.
- Experience in developing control frameworks and conducting self-assessment testing.
- Knowledge of automation tools to support continuous integration and delivery.
- Understanding of privacy laws at state, federal, and international levels.
- Ability to articulate IT risks to business leaders effectively.
- Experience collaborating with internal and external audit teams and managing IT control testing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and capability to navigate complex security requirements.
- CRISC certification is a plus.
- Office-based role with the possibility of remote work one day a week for eligible employees.
