Position Overview:

The Child Welfare Support Coordinator plays a vital role in delivering a mix of services, which may encompass educational support, parent-child interaction, housing assistance, and resource referrals. This position may involve providing individual or group services in various settings, including community centers, schools, or homes. The coordinator supports at-risk families by implementing services that allow children to remain safely with their families or return home promptly. Collaborating with case managers, the coordinator assesses family needs and the parents' capacity to meet their children's requirements, developing strategies to achieve these goals.

Position Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree or a high school diploma accompanied by three years of experience working with families from diverse backgrounds.
  • A valid driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and personal auto liability insurance are required. The candidate must have access to a personal vehicle suitable for transporting children, including car seats.
  • Ability to model effective parenting techniques and guide parents in nurturing their children.
  • Skills to engage families facing safety concerns and related challenges to enhance family dynamics and promote positive child development.
  • Strong decision-making abilities, capable of analyzing situations and making sound judgments to ensure child safety.
  • Capacity to work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document progress and present information effectively in various settings.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Commitment to mandatory reporting of child abuse and neglect.
  • Ability to connect families with community resources and knowledge of available support services.
