Job Overview

The Certified Clinical Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering clinical support to designated patients under the guidance of a licensed medical professional or nurse. This position also entails providing administrative assistance within the healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare examination and treatment areas, ensuring all necessary supplies and instruments are available.
  • Assist patients in getting ready for their medical appointments and examinations as instructed.
  • Measure and document patients' vital signs accurately in their medical records.
  • Understand the proper operation and maintenance of specialized medical equipment.
  • Conduct EKGs, pulmonary function tests, audiometry, and Titmus tests as required, following a completed performance evaluation checklist.
  • Perform urine drug screenings, breath alcohol tests, phlebotomy, and other laboratory tests as indicated, contingent upon successful completion of performance evaluations.
  • Maintain patient records by completing documentation as directed and organizing files and reports.
  • Assist with billing and collection processes as necessary.
  • Utilize computer software to manage office systems efficiently.
  • Recognize and address confidentiality concerns appropriately.
  • Assess the specific needs of the patient demographic served and tailor care accordingly (considering factors such as age, culture, language, and sensory impairments).

This includes effective communication with patients, parents, and/or primary caregivers at an appropriate level (developmental, educational, literacy, etc.).

Additional Duties:
  • Perform other assigned tasks and projects as needed.
  • Comply with organizational competencies and behavioral standards.
  • Lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push and pull at least 10 lbs., and maintain a standing position for a minimum of 6 hours daily.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Capability to engage effectively and supportively with diverse populations.
  • Aptitude for thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with computerized systems and data entry protocols.
Minimum Educational Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent (such as a GED).
Preferred Educational Background:
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
