Responsibilities

·Provide high-quality patient care to residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.

·Assist residents with daily activities, such as eating, drinking, and using the bathroom.

·Monitor residents' vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.

·Administer medications and treatments as directed by the nursing staff.

·Document resident care and progress in the medical record.

·Participate in the development and implementation of individualized care plans for residents.

·Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members.

·Perform other duties as assigned by the nursing staff.

Qualifications and Skills

·Completion of a state-approved certified nursing assistant program.

·Completion of a medication assistance in-service program from an RPH licensed in the state.

·High school education or high school equivalency diploma (preferred).

·Verification of a negative TB skin test (annual requirement).

·Minimum of 12 hours of CNA continuing education programs provided by the facility, in order to maintain certification.

·Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and providing related bedside resident care services.

·Understanding of the standard techniques used in providing personal services for residents and in caring for equipment and supplies.

·Awareness of safety hazards to residents and self.

·Familiarity with facility regulations and the location of various facility departments.

·Understanding of basic medical asepsis, sterile techniques, and universal precautions to avoid infection of residents and contamination of equipment and supplies.

·Ability to work rotating shifts and in different units as residents' needs require (specific scheduling will be under the direction of the nursing supervisor).

·Ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.

·Ability to read, write, and understand the English language.

·Good physical and mental health.
