Role ResponsibilitiesThe Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-focused respiratory care in alignment with departmental standards and state regulations. As an integral member of the healthcare team, you will conduct various diagnostic assessments and therapeutic interventions, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients receiving both invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting thorough patient assessments, including evaluating breath sounds and airway integrity.
- Administering respiratory therapies such as oxygen delivery and aerosol treatments.
- Assisting in the placement of artificial airways and managing mechanical ventilation.
- Monitoring patient responses to therapy and intervening as necessary.
- Facilitating the safe transport of patients requiring ventilatory support.
- Responding to emergency situations to maintain airway safety and ventilation.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
- Neonate Resuscitation certification within 90 days of employment.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within 90 days of employment.
- Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license issued by the Texas Medical Board.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist license from the NBRC.
- Associate Degree preferred.
