Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Carle Foundation Hospital. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in performing diagnostic procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures for patients of all ages, ensuring accurate and complete examinations.
  • Exhibit competency in performing diagnostic imaging and radionuclide therapy, maintaining quality care throughout the procedure.
  • Complete scheduling, ordering radiopharmaceuticals, and patient preparation guidelines, as well as document administrations of all radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Maintain quality control records and images, camera floods, and follow all conditions of MMCI radioactive material license and IDNS regulations.
  • Collaborate with the radiology team to interpret and communicate nuclear medicine findings, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Radiology or a related field, or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Nuclear Medicine Tech Certification (NMTCB) within 1 year of hire, or (N)(ARRT) within 1 year of hire, or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist upon hire.
  • IL State License in Nuclear Medicine or Temp required upon hire, and BLS within 30 days of hire.
