Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Description

Carle Foundation Hospital is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in performing diagnostic studies and assisting with therapeutic administrations utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and imaging equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic studies and radiopharmaceutical therapeutic administration by utilizing Nuc Med and/or PET/CT equipment.
  • Review radiology orders for completeness and accuracy, and take steps to acquire additional information if needed.
  • Administer IV radiopharmaceuticals by means of existing IV line or by performing veni-puncture and placing IV line.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and workplace environment, including supply inventories and orderliness of work area.
  • Ensure patient, visitor, and environmental safety, and report safety events immediately.
Requirements:
  • Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Radiography License
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Nuclear Medicine certification or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Nuclear Medicine Technologist Registry
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Positive attitude and demonstrated willingness to assess and improve work environment
