Job Summary:

As a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse Lead at Carle Health, you will contribute to the interdisciplinary team by applying your professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients. You will work collaboratively with team members to coordinate patient care, utilizing additional resources when necessary. Your critical thinking skills will enable you to analyze clinical situations systematically and act to obtain resources or correct problems to meet or exceed expected outcomes or patient needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote the use of evidence-based practice through the nursing process, protocols, and procedures.
• Assess patient status through interview, observation, and physical assessment of actual problems and outcomes.
• Develop an individualized plan of care using a collaborative approach with the patient/family and healthcare team.
• Use appropriate interventions identified in the plan of care to achieve expected patient outcomes.
• Systematically evaluate and document patient progress toward expected outcomes/goals on an ongoing basis throughout the shift.
• Modify the plan of care based on evaluation and as needed based on changes in patient condition.
• Complete required documentation as appropriate, including patient chart and event reports.

Requirements:

• College Diploma in Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License Illinois upon hire and Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI Training) within 1 year and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 1 year or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) Provider within 1 year and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 3 years.
• Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
• Work may occasionally require travel to other Carle Health facilities/hospitals.
• Required to drive your own vehicle for business purposes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English.
• Basic computer knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser.
• Multicultural sensitivity.
• Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
