Job Description and Duties
This is a 12-month Limited-Term position that may be extended up to 24 months and/or with the possibility of becoming permanent.
The Telecommunications Systems Technician is responsible for responding to and resolving public safety communications problems for State Agency clients under the close supervision of the Telecommunications Systems Operations Supervisor I (TSOS I).
The incumbent will functionally report to assigned shop lead as required and participate in on-the-job training and complete an in-house technical training program.
Duties are performed by following FCC rules and regulations; utilizing at a minimum, office provided training, complex test equipment, computers, hand tools, the Telecommunications Division Manual (TDM), and technical literature.
The incumbent will communicate effectively on all written and verbal interactions, frequently interfacing with customers and co-workers to resolve issues and collaborate.
The Telecommunications Systems Technician will maintain a professional and team-centered environment by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and work proficiently with Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Travel to and working in remote locations, high-elevations, and inclement weather conditions may be required.
