Bashas' Bakery Team Member Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bakery Team Member to join our Bashas' team. As a Bakery Team Member, you will be responsible for producing high-quality baked goods, maintaining a clean and organized bakery environment, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality baked goods: Mix, weigh, proof, bake, fry, decorate, and finish a variety of bakery products, including cakes, donuts, breads, pastries, and pies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized bakery environment: Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and work areas, and maintain a clean and organized storage area.
  • Provide excellent customer service: Engage with customers, answer questions, and provide product information and recommendations.
  • Assist with inventory management: Monitor and control product inventory, including ordering and receiving supplies.
  • Operate bakery equipment: Use ovens, proofers, fryers, sheeters, rounders, scales, and mixers to produce high-quality baked goods.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation procedures: Follow all bakery department food safety and sanitation policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent: Required.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver merchandise and supplies: Must be able to lift and maneuver at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment: Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work with bakery ingredients: Must be able to work with various flours, spices, nuts, flavorings, and oils.

Working Conditions:

This position requires standing for long periods of time, bending and twisting, and frequently lifting and/or maneuvering merchandise and supplies. The position also requires working late night and early morning shifts, as well as working in walk-in coolers and freezers and around hot ovens and fryers.
