Position Overview:

The N256 division provides applied systems engineering and mission engineering support for two Combatant Commands (CCMDs), specifically NORAD/USNORTHCOM and HQ US Space Command. This dynamic element of the N250 Joint Staff / Combatant Command (JS/CCMD) Division emphasizes collaboration and mission orientation. The focus of this role is to assist in the development of the Integrated CONUS Medical Operations Plan in partnership with the Surgeon General (SG) office, alongside USNORTHCOM, DHS/FEMA, and HHS/ASPR. The National Center for Disaster Medicine and Public Health (NCDMPH) leverages MITRE's Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in crafting this Combat Medical Surge Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize systems engineering methodologies and processes related to acquisition, architectural design, system integration, risk assessment, and other engineering disciplines to address operational challenges across various NORAD and USNORTHCOM mission areas.
  • Collaborate with MITRE and relevant partners to identify and formulate solution recommendations that incorporate best practices and cutting-edge engineering solutions.
  • Conduct comprehensive research to meet current and future client needs.
  • Prepare technical documentation and presentations to inform decision-makers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in an engineering, science, or technology field, or a Master's degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in one or more cybersecurity specialties.
  • Proven ability to deliver clear technical analysis and actionable recommendations to decision-makers at all levels.
  • This position necessitates an on-site presence five days a week.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CISSP certification or equivalent demonstrated cybersecurity experience.
  • Experience with requirements documentation and program/mission gap analysis.
  • Familiarity with or experience in DoD and Civilian Medical Disaster Medicine.
  • Solid understanding of Systems Engineering Principles, concepts, methods, and tools for developing Systems Engineering frameworks and documentation.
  • Ability to apply Systems Engineering concepts to real-world challenges.
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in integrating diverse team members to fulfill task requirements.

Clearance Requirements:

This position requires candidates to possess a minimum of Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Salary Range:

$138,500 - $173,000 - $207,500 Annual
