Community Engagement and Marketing Coordinator
This role is pivotal in crafting strategic communication initiatives to enhance brand visibility and foster public engagement. Responsibilities include the creation of communication materials such as press releases and newsletters, as well as nurturing and sustaining positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including media representatives.
The selected candidate will also oversee team management, establish objectives and protocols, supervise operations, and address any challenges that may arise.
Key Skills and Competencies:
Communications and Marketing: As the primary contact for all organizational and client communications, the candidate will be expected to:
- Develop marketing materials for the organization and its clients.
- Utilize both creative and analytical approaches to problem-solving.
- Demonstrate exceptional communication and writing abilities when engaging with customers, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Conduct comprehensive research and compile data to produce content such as client success narratives, reports, presentations, press releases, newsletters, and other marketing materials.
- Create content for dissemination across various communication platforms, including websites, social media, and both electronic and print newsletters.
- Formulate marketing strategies for the organization as well as tailored strategies for specific business clients.
- Design and implement project plans, timelines, and meeting agendas.
Public Engagement: Act as the lead on projects across diverse industry sectors, including transportation, transit, aviation, municipal, and other private or non-profit organizations.
- Devise and execute effective public outreach strategies and plans.
- Oversee, coordinate, and manage all outreach and engagement activities in collaboration with clients and technical teams.
- Facilitate and organize virtual and in-person events such as open houses, workshops, public hearings, and community meetings.
- Design, set up, and actively monitor event registration processes.
- Represent the organization at trade shows and public events as necessary.
- Manage on-site events and registration logistics.
- Support business development through copywriting and proposal preparation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Experience, and Additional Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of five years of experience in a communications, marketing, and/or public engagement capacity.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Strong marketing communications skills; relevant certifications are advantageous.
