Position Overview:

The Literacy Instructional Specialist will provide on-site support to educators up to four days a week, dedicating the fifth day to planning and preparation to address the needs of educators. This role may also involve collaboration with the Amplify Professional Development team on broader initiatives during times when school leaders are not present.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with district and school leadership alongside the Amplify Literacy Professional Development Strategist to establish coaching strategies and focus areas throughout the academic year.
  • Provide recommendations to enhance educational outcomes and equity for diverse student populations, including those with learning differences and English Learners.
  • Conduct classroom observations and offer constructive feedback to educators to strengthen the implementation of Amplify's literacy programs.
  • Facilitate Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) for educators, including additional consultation hours as needed.
  • Assist in data analysis and instructional planning with grade-level teams and individual educators.
  • Analyze student work and formative assessment data to inform instructional decisions and adapt to learner needs.
  • Develop model classrooms and capture video examples to showcase effective practices in planning and instruction.

Additional Duties:

  • Actively seek feedback and adjust coaching practices based on insights that lead to improved student outcomes.
  • Create or customize professional development experiences tailored to specific needs.
  • Facilitate district-wide professional development sessions, both in-person and remotely, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Deep passion for literacy and extensive knowledge of structured literacy.
  • Experience in leading sustained coaching and professional development for K-5 educators.
  • A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in K-5 ELA with proven results.
  • Experience collaborating on projects with educational leaders and teachers.
  • Ability to analyze data effectively and apply findings to improve practice.
  • Strong time management skills while balancing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in technology-based productivity tools, particularly Google Applications.
  • Willingness to travel locally to support educators.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with or support of CKLA curriculum.
  • 10+ years of teaching and leadership experience in K-5, demonstrating significant student impact.
  • Capability to assist educators in remote learning environments, if necessary.
  • Biliteracy in Spanish is a plus.
  • Master's or advanced degree in Education.

Additional Information:

This position requires the Literacy Instructional Specialist to have the legal right to work in the US and possess a valid US driver's license. Local travel is essential for this role, and related expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with company policies.

Compensation and Benefits:

The annual salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $90,000. Amplify offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
