Emergency Veterinarian Job Opportunity at Cornell University

Cornell University Hospital for Animals is seeking a talented and experienced emergency veterinarian to join our team. As a staff veterinarian, you will provide high-quality emergency care to client-owned animals in a dynamic teaching hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with a team of seven ECC-boarded specialists, eight ECC residents, rotating interns, and twelve licensed veterinary technicians dedicated to emergency practice.
  • Join a welcoming group of board-certified veterinarians representing all specialties at Cornell University Hospital for Animals in Ithaca, NY.
  • Provide exceptional care to dogs, cats, and exotic species in need of primary and referral emergency case management.
  • Take advantage of our high-level learning environment with guidance and support 24/7 from specialists on call.

Qualifications:
  • DVM/VMD with a minimum of 2 years companion animal practice experience, preferably including a busy rotating internship or emergency experience.
  • Thrives in the fast-paced clinical environment of a busy ER.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with clients, team members, and local referring veterinarians.
  • Interested in a team approach to high-quality emergency medicine.
  • Has a growth mindset while providing leadership and experience.
  • Excited about hands-on teaching of DVM students in our academic, multi-specialty practice.
