Key Responsibilities- Policy Review: Conduct thorough reviews of policies to ensure they align with our underwriting guidelines and granted authority.
- Risk Assessment: Determine whether to accept, modify, or decline risks based on our underwriting criteria.
- Endorsement Oversight: Approve endorsements as necessary and ensure they meet our underwriting standards.
- Premium Audit Resolution: Resolve premium audit disputes within assigned territories.
- Underwriting Tools Utilization: Leverage our underwriting tools to determine accurate classifications, rates, and premium charges.
- State Law Compliance: Review state laws, including cancellation and non-renewal, within assigned territories to ensure compliance.
- Broker Partnerships: Collaborate with general agents and brokers to obtain further information, quote rates, or explain underwriting guidelines.
- Data Analysis: Create, analyze, and interpret data from various reports to inform underwriting decisions.
- Business Development: Communicate with and manage broker partners to develop new growth opportunities.
- Product Remediation: Collaborate with actuarial and marketing teams to remediate unprofitable products or brokers.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or two to five years of related insurance experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Underwriting Guidelines: Adhere to underwriting guidelines established by the division.
- Communication Skills: Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
- Insurance Education: Previous insurance educational work, IIA, and CPCU certifications are desirable.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrate detail-oriented skills with initiative and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel: Ability to travel, if necessary.
- Analytical Skills: Exhibit excellent analytical skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of computer programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
