Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Tax Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for compiling and remitting federal and state tax obligations, maintaining payroll tax rates in Workday, and assisting in the audit and validation of vendor filings.
Key Responsibilities- Timely and accurate remittance of Federal, State, and Local payroll taxes for US entities doing business in multiple states and localities to third-party vendors
- Assist with jurisdiction setup, completion, and registration of all applicable forms with state and local agencies not managed by payroll vendors
- Assist with the accuracy and integrity of data provided to third-party vendors
- Monitor tax changes and compliance ordinances to stay up-to-date
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed
- Analyze and interpret financial data for tax reporting
- Maintain both ADP and OSV online tax portals
- Maintain all entities' online state and local portals login data
- Manage all state and local online payments not paid by third-party vendors
- Payroll/accounting experience (preferred but not required)
- Minimum education: High School Diploma (Degree preferred but not required)
- At least 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience in U.S. and global payroll tax at a complex global organization
- Workday experience (preferred but not required)
- Minimum 6 months to 1 year of payroll experience in a large payroll operation with multi-state and multi-national population
- Strong project management experience, including the ability to manage project plans, dependencies, critical path activities, and milestones
- Experience in Workday (a plus)
- Significant experience in Excel, including advanced knowledge of VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables
- Knowledge of general accounting practices (e.g., journal entries, general ledger reporting)
ZEISS offers a competitive salary range of $53,000 - $65,000, as well as a performance bonus or sales commissions. We also provide robust benefits, including medical plans, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
