Job Overview

Position: Adult Group Home Staff Member

Company: Winds of Change

Role Summary: Engage with residents and oversee daily living activities. Opportunities for both full-time and part-time roles are available.

Work Schedule: Shifts are structured as 12-hour periods, with options for both daytime and overnight assignments. Day shifts typically run from 6am to 6pm, while overnight shifts are from 6pm to 6am.

Compensation:

Hourly rate ranges from $17 to $18.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and address the challenges faced by residents in achieving independent living or community involvement.
  • Assist individuals in improving their communication skills.
  • Identify and implement effective strategies for symptom management.
  • Build and nurture social support networks for residents.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization in shared areas of the home.
  • Support medication distribution as needed.
  • Tailor skills training to meet the unique needs of residents in various aspects of their lives.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention and manage responses to the 24-hour crisis line.
  • Oversee the preparation of three healthy meals each day.
  • Follow the transitional treatment plan established by management.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Complete all required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Engage in effective verbal communication with clients.
  • Perform physical tasks including sitting, standing, walking, and stretching.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in a supervised environment with individuals experiencing severe mental health challenges.
  • Preferred: Completion of college-level courses in mental health or psychology.
  • Ability to lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Good vision is essential, including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, along with strong concentration skills.
  • Regular attendance is essential for this position.
