The Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in the autonomous planning, execution, and assessment of nursing care for patients in critical conditions. - Formulates strategies to meet anticipated patient outcomes.
- Administers interventions and medical directives as required.
- Facilitates the coordination of patient care.
- Implements patient education for health improvement.
- Assesses progress towards established outcomes.
- Upholds ethical nursing practices.
- Stays informed on contemporary nursing methodologies and applies evidence-based research.
- Enhances quality nursing practices and shared decision-making by endorsing council resolutions and actively engaging in decision-making processes.
- Exhibits effective communication across all practice domains.
- Demonstrates leadership within the professional nursing environment.
- Collaborates with patients, families, interdisciplinary teams, and others in nursing practice.
- Utilizes suitable resources to ensure safe, effective, and economically responsible nursing services.
- Operates in a manner that promotes environmental safety and health.
- Completes assessments of Adult ICU Systems and incorporates findings to enhance patient safety and outcomes.
- Exhibits proficiency in monitoring skills, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, pulse oximetry, and hemodynamic assessment.
- Possesses knowledge of critical care-specific medications, infusions, and equipment.
- Maintains competencies in critical care practices.
- Participates in multidisciplinary rounds.
Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience in critical care nursing.
- Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the State of Florida.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is highly preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification is required.
- New graduate nurses may be considered for this position.
