About the Role

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures, to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including diesel and gasoline engine repairs, power train component diagnosis and repair, hydraulic system troubleshooting and repair, and electrical system maintenance.
  • Conduct minor mechanical repairs, perform scheduled maintenance, and respond to equipment breakdowns as needed, to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and safety orders, including safety precautions on raised truck beds, brakes, mixer lockouts, and other hazardous equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete work orders on equipment, to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as required, to support the success of our team and the company.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of one year of experience repairing heavy equipment or vocational training, to demonstrate technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
  • NYS Heavy Equipment Inspector's License or ability to obtain, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to read and comprehend maintenance manuals, and possess basic hand and air tools required to repair heavy duty trucks, to perform routine maintenance and repairs.
  • 1 to 4 years of experience required, to demonstrate a strong understanding of heavy equipment repair and maintenance.

Work Environment

Physical Requirements: sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, reaching, squatting, lifting and carrying up to lbs., work in confined spaces, and wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment, to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
