Job Responsibilities
  • Provide support to clients with substance use disorders while in custody and post-release
  • Serve as a role model by exhibiting long-term stable personal recovery and use of appropriate coping skills
  • Conduct group sessions and assist clients with goals for recovery
  • Consult with other treatment team members
  • Provide resources to assist with recovery and transition
  • Travel throughout the state to provide peer support services to clients in substance use treatment
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Former participant in a substance abuse treatment program and demonstrated long-term stable recovery
  • Therapeutic Community experience desired
  • Certified Missouri Recovery Support Specialist-Peer (MRSS-P) as required by the Missouri Credentialing Board (MCB)
  • Current driver's license and good driving record
  • Must be able to obtain Missouri Department of Corrections clearance
