AODA Counselor

Brown County Health and Human Services Department is seeking a skilled AODA Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our outpatient clinic, you will provide conventional AODA substance abuse counseling services, case management, and Intoxicated Driver Program (IDP) assessments.
Key Responsibilities- Screen and assess clients for substance use disorder services, identifying their needs and strengths.
- Provide individual and group counseling, as well as other substance use disorder services, in an office setting.
- Participate in client evaluations, designing supports and interventions to address their needs.
- Provide case management services, including intake, assessment, and direct services to consumers with mental health and substance use conditions.
- Link clients to other services or support systems in the community, working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Develop and implement service plans, providing for appropriate mental health services to clients and their families.
- Provide community education and serve as a consultant to other agencies, industries, and committees regarding substance use disorder treatment programs.
- Bachelor's degree in a health or social services discipline, plus two years' experience in the substance use disorder field.
- Substance Abuse Counselor In Training credential or eligibility, or Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC) or Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) certification.
- Valid Wisconsin Driver's License.
This position requires the ability to lift 20 pounds, sit, stand, and walk intermittently, and communicate effectively with clients and staff. The successful candidate must be free from communicable disease and maintain the confidential nature of client and business information.
