We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Construction Project Lead to oversee the preconstruction phase of industrial construction projects. This role requires strategic thinking, strong background in managing preconstruction processes, cost estimation, project scheduling, and collaborating with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.

Our client is a leading general contractor based in Central New Jersey, renowned for delivering exceptional industrial construction projects. We specialize in a wide range of industrial facilities, including manufacturing plants, warehouses, and distribution centers. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the preconstruction process from initial client meetings to project handoff to the construction team.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and schedules in collaboration with project stakeholders.
  • Review and analyze architectural, structural, and MEP plans to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop project scopes and define project objectives.
  • Prepare and manage detailed bid packages, solicit subcontractor bids, and assist with contractor selection.
  • Evaluate and mitigate project risks during the preconstruction phase.
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation for each project.
  • Provide strategic advice to the project team to ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations to clients.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in preconstruction management, with a focus on industrial construction.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, cost estimating, project scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or similar).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to think critically and problem-solve in high-pressure situations.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Central New Jersey.
