Infection Prevention Specialist for Safe Patient Care

We are seeking an Infection Preventionist to join our team at the Beacon Brook Center for Health & Rehabilitation.
About the RoleThis is a Full-Time position with a competitive salary of $120,000 per year and a $3,000 sign-on bonus.
As an Infection Preventionist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring infection prevention and control programs. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
Duties and Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control programs to prevent the spread of infections among residents and staff.
- Review, update, and direct the implementation of infection control and prevention policies and procedures.
- Oversee the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, Employee Health Program, and Universal Influenza Program.
- Serve as a member of the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee.
- Ensure compliance with new hire screening, documentation, and immunization reporting requirements.
- Perform rounds to identify potential hazards, monitor infection control practices, and evaluate compliance with standard and transmission-based precautions.
- Develop and deliver staff education programs on infection prevention and control.
- Analyze surveillance trends and develop action plans in conjunction with the QAPI process.
- A valid state nursing license.
- A degree in nursing, epidemiology, biology, or microbiology.
- Infection Control and Prevention Certification required prior to assuming the role.
- Experience in a Long-Term Care or similar healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong clinical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
