Join Our Team as a Patient Liaison

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Liaison to join our team at Northwestern Medicine. As a Patient Liaison, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical practices, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting our healthcare team.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage schedules to optimize resource utilization and ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Perform schedule maintenance activities, including opening and closing clinic templates, and coordinate care alternatives for patients impacted by changes.
  • Communicate with patients and clinical staff to ensure patient compliance with prescribed treatment plans.
  • Assist the Practice Manager with data collection and analysis related to physician productivity and resource utilization.
  • Facilitate the resolution and prevention of billing errors and denials, including obtaining pre-certifications or referrals as needed.
  • Register patients and schedule or coordinate appointments.
  • Provide patient education information and materials as needed.
  • Maintain strong relationships with patients, internal providers, staff, external hospital departments, physician offices, and vendors.
  • Answer incoming inquiries from patients, providers, staff, and others related to practice operations.
  • Conduct follow-up with patients to ensure compliance with testing, prescriptions, and the plan of care.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2 years of previous healthcare experience.
  • Experience in a customer service role.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Previous experience with an electronic medical record system.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
