Position Overview

The Senior Fire Alarm Inspector is tasked with performing systematic evaluations, testing, servicing, and preventive maintenance on electrical, sprinkler, or suppression life safety systems, as well as comparable products from other manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with low voltage wiring and related devices essential for the functionality of low voltage systems.
  • Accurately complete Service Acknowledgements using communication tools such as laptops and/or printed documents.
  • Adhere to a meticulously structured inspection timetable.
  • Manage inspection documentation through input, retrieval, and archiving via laptop.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned inspections and perform additional tasks as required.
  • Identify deficiencies in accordance with NFPA standards and provide quotations and repairs as necessary.
Operational Methodology

Exhibit a strong aptitude for diagnosing system issues and executing necessary repairs. Follow both verbal and written directives effectively. Demonstrate proficiency in using PCs, including a working knowledge of MS Excel and Word, as well as mobile applications.

Capable of undertaking physical tasks, including lifting and transporting equipment and tools weighing up to 40 lbs. Ability to work in unconventional and challenging positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high-lift equipment up to 40 feet, as well as navigating ducts, crawl spaces, and areas above ceilings.

Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, to fulfill customer needs. Willingness to travel out of town, including overnight stays.

Exhibit a high standard of customer service. Self-motivated individual capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Adhere to, implement, and follow safety protocols and procedures consistently.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems.
  • Experience with Fire and/or Life Safety Systems is essential.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and multi-meter operation is necessary.
