Position Overview: The Traveling Medical Assistant Trainer is tasked with delivering comprehensive training and onboarding for Medical Assistants (MAs) across various clinics and facilities. This role is essential in ensuring that MAs are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care while adhering to clinical compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exhibit exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, alongside strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate professionalism and independence as a representative of Optum.
- Manage organizational tasks effectively, prioritizing responsibilities to meet deadlines.
- Foster strong relationships with team members and clients, maintaining a positive image of Optum.
- Travel to various clinics to ensure consistent training quality and compliance through on-site assessments.
- Stay informed about state and federal regulations regarding medical assistant practices.
- Conduct regular compliance audits to uphold regulatory standards.
- Facilitate hands-on training in essential clinical skills, including venipuncture and patient assessment.
- Provide mentorship and constructive feedback to trainees, tracking their progress and performance.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Qualifications:
- Current and unrestricted certification as a Certified Medical Assistant.
- CPR certification.
- 5+ years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, with proficiency in various clinical procedures.
- Experience in a leadership or training capacity.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with veterans or in military healthcare settings.
- Previous travel experience in a professional capacity.
