- Assist patients in transitioning from mobility aids to imaging tables, positioning them accurately for optimal imaging results.
- Continuously monitor patient conditions during procedures, promptly reporting any significant changes to the appropriate medical staff.
- Administer radioisotopes to patients, adhering strictly to departmental protocols and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of administered doses in compliance with industry regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department to enhance service delivery.
- Ensure the upkeep of imaging equipment and supplies, reporting any malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through educational opportunities and staying current with industry advancements.
- Fulfill on-call responsibilities as scheduled, contributing to the department's operational readiness.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine program with comprehensive knowledge of radioisotope applications.
- Current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
- Possession of a valid Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) license.
- Current CPR certification from a recognized provider.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
- Analytical skills to determine appropriate patient positioning and dosage administration.
- Proficiency in utilizing computer systems for job-related functions.
Physical Requirements:
Moderate physical activity is required, including prolonged standing or sitting, with occasional lifting of equipment and supplies.
Working Conditions:
Work environment includes exposure to radiation and potential infectious diseases, necessitating adherence to safety protocols.
