Job Overview

The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements, correcting vehicle deficiencies, and keeping records. This is a Monday - Friday, second shift position with a competitive hourly rate of $30.00/hr, plus an uncapped Service Technician Incentive Program.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to determine vehicle condition
  • Complete preventive maintenance schedules, install component and part upgrades, and control corrosion
  • Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems
  • Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards
  • Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Trade school or college education in a diesel technology program preferred
  • 2-5 years related work experience preferred
  • Mechanical knowledge required
  • Valid Driver's License required; CDL preferred (must be willing to obtain)
  • Dependable and reliable attendance required
