Job Description
Johnston-Willis Hospital seeks a Medical Instrument Technician to join our team as a Central Sterile Technician II. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and sterilizing medical equipment and supplies for surgical procedures, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assemble medical equipment and instruments for surgery, adhering to strict sterility protocols and safety guidelines.
- Clean and process medical supplies, equipment, and surgical instruments, utilizing specialized equipment and techniques.
- Sterilize reusable equipment, supplies, and instrumentation using specialized equipment and techniques, adhering to strict quality control standards.
- Transport and store sterile equipment, instruments, and supplies safely and efficiently, utilizing case carts and other logistics systems.
- Collaborate with OR staff to ensure seamless integration of sterilized equipment and supplies into surgical procedures.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a CSS technician with a strong understanding of sterilization procedures and protocols.
- High School Graduate or equivalent with relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Sterile Processing Technician).
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and adapt to changing priorities and workflows.
