About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Diesel Technician Apprentice to join our team at Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores. As a Diesel Technician Apprentice, you will be responsible for assisting our experienced technicians in performing routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist customers with roadside services and provide exceptional customer service
  • Learn and perform preventative maintenance services on diesel engines and equipment
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, air conditioning, and heating systems
  • Perform wheel end assembly, air system, and air brakes repairs
  • Assist with parts lookup and acquisition
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a clean and safe workspace
Requirements
  • Ability to move, lift 75+ pounds, and work in close quarters
  • Ability to work in various temperatures and environments
  • Ability to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation (paid by Love's)
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed
